Deputy Sheriff Mark A. Cox, 57

Real County Texas Sheriff’s Office

September 25, 2018 – Deputy Mark Cox suffered a fatal heart attack during canine training exercises. He is survived by his wife and two children.

 

 

 

 


Corporal Zach Moak, 31

Brookhaven Mississippi Police Department

September 29, 2018 – Corporal Zach Moak was shot and killed at a home after responding to reports of shots fired. He and Patrolman James White exchanged fire with the suspect, but both officers died of their wounds.

 

 

 


Patrolman James White, 35

Brookhaven Mississippi Police Department

September 29, 2018 – Patrolman James White was shot and killed at a home after responding to reports of shots fired. He and Corporal Zach Moak  exchanged fire with the suspect, but both officers died of their wounds.

Patrolman White is survived by his fiancee, two young sons, his parents, sister, stepfather, stepsister, stepbrother and other family.

 


Chief of Police Lonnie Burton, 64

Wayland Baptist University Texas Police Department

June 25, 2018 – Chief of Police Lonnie Burton succumbed to complications of the surgery related to a knee injury sustained when he fell from a curb in front of the police station.

 

 


Sergeant Terrence Carraway, 52

Florence South Carolina Police Department

October 3, 2018 – Sergeant Terrence Carraway was shot and killed while responding to rescue three sheriff’s deputies who had been shot while serving a sexual assault warrant. A second subject in the house opened fire on the deputies from a second-floor window.

Sergeant Carraway is survived by his wife and three children.

 


Deputy Sheriff Raymond Bradley Jimmerson, 49

Nacogdoches County Texas Sheriff’s Office

October 5, 2018 – Deputy Sheriff Raymond Jimmerson was struck and killed by a vehicle  while attempting to remove debris from a roadway.

He is survived by his fiancee, mother, father, and brother.

 

 

 


Federal Agent Kristopher David Youngberg, 41

United States Department of Energy

October 5, 2018 – Federal Agent Kristopher Youngberg was killed in a vehicle crash when the van he was a passenger of struck the back of a dump truck that was attempting to make a U-turn. Three of the other agents were critically injured in the crash.

He is survived by his wife, two children, father, and sister.
