Senior Corporal Norman Smith, 43
Dallas Police Department
Corporal Smith was shot and killed when he and other members of the Gang Unit went to a private residence to serve a warrant for assault. Corporal Smith was shot when he knocked on the front door. SWAT was called in and successfully took three people into custody. The shooter was arrested.
Corporal Smith is survived by his wife, also a Dallas police officer, and two children.
