The June 8-11, 2023 event is the last opportunity for you to attend the Writers’ Police Academy; therefore, we encourage, welcome, and invite you to join us for a final celebration of one of the top events for writers from around the world.
It’s been a wild ride, for sure. We’ve seen new authors become bestsellers. We’ve connected writers with agents and editors. Bestselling novels were born at the WPA. Lasting friendships were formed. Here’s how it works. You sign up to attend the 2023 Writers’ Police Academy and your guest’s registration is free. It’s that simple. No strings attached. So bring a friend, a co-author, a significant other, your editor or agent, child (16 or older), cousin, aunt, uncle, grandparent, a neighbor, etc.
Registering your Guest
After you’ve completed your registration, contact Lee Lofland at lofland32@msn.com with the name and email address of your guest. He will then provide a payment bypass code for your guest to use when registering.
Rules
- Offer applies to 2023 paid registrations only.
- Already registered, you may still bring a guest. Offer is retroactive to those who’ve registered and paid in 2023 to attend in 2023. Your guest may not be someone who’s already registered to attend, or someone who previously signed up and cancelled their registration.
- One free registration per paid attendee.
- Buy One Get One Free offer may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer.
- Offer is for one free registration only. Hotel, travel, banquet, and other expenses are not included. However, each WPA registration includes free breakfast at the hotel (buffet with our group) and lunches at the public safety academy.

Sorry to see WPA ending, but I know it’s a lot of work to put on this event. Thank you, Lee, for giving us 15. I attended three and learned so much. If I could go this year, I would, but I’m afraid I can’t. Wishing you another successful WPA.
Wow, this makes me so sad. I wish I could make it this year–which would be my 3rd WPA–but I’m in the midst of selling my house and moving so, alas, it’s not likely. Lee, you have helped me so much in my writing career and I am so truly grateful. I have more to thank you for than I could begin to say. Wow, I was there either the first year or the second. I talk about the conference at every school visit. It will be missed!
Truly bummed. Was hoping to catch you in 2024. Guess that’s not happening. Have only heard great things about this conference.
If I were physically able, I would be there. When you were at the OWFI conference, I was able to get around fairly well, but now I can’t walk at all without a walker and have to use oxygen 24/7. Covid almost finished me in 2022, and I miss being able to do even what I really WANT to do. I have always wanted to attend your academy, and here’s the last one. I hope all the best for you, your wife, and your grandson.
So sorry to see this come to an end. WPA was the best conference I ever attended. There was another one that I attended in Tennessee that was really good in the past, but when I went back to it last year it was a major disappointment. I’m running out of conferences now.
