FBI Special Agent Paul M. Sorce, 44

Department of Justice – FBI

 

Agent Paul Sorce was killed in an on-duty automobile accident on March 9, 2009.

Lieutenant Stuart J. Alexander, 47

Corpus Christi Texas Police Department

 

On March 11, 2009, Lt. Stuart Alexander was intentionally struck and killed by a fleeing criminal suspect who had just assaulted another police officer. Lt. Alexander was in the process of deploying stop sticks when the suspect hit him with his car. The lieutenant is survived by his wife and son.

Corrections Officer Adam Sanderson, 32

Florida Department of Corrections

 

Officer Adam Sanderson’s department vehicle was struck head-on by a suspect who was fleeing the scene of a stabbing. Officer Sanderson was killed in the March 6, 2009 accident. The suspect in the stabbing was also a Department of Corrections employee. He, too, died in the accident.

Jailer Thomas Carroll, 51

Goodhue Minnesota Sheriff’s Department

Jailer Thomas Carroll suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in CPR training on March 10, 2009.
