The Graveyard Shift extends our condolences to the families of the officers who sacrificed everything to keep us safe.

Correctional Officer Larry L. Stell, 46

Georgia Department of Corrections

October 11, 2012 – Correctional Officer Larry L. Stell was fatally stabbed by an inmate in a housing unit at the Telfair State Prison. He is survived by his wife.

Officer Joseph Olivieri, 43

Nassau County New York Police Department

October 18, 2012 – Officer Joseph Olivieri was struck and killed by a vehicle while investigating at an accident scene.

Officer Kelly Chase, 38

Oklahoma City Oklahoma Police Department

October 13, 2012 – Officer Kelly Chase died after suffering a head injury during defensive tactics training in the basic police officer academy. The injury occurred during the final phase of testing. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Officer Kelly Bowden, 28

Prince George’s County Maryland Police Department

October 18, 2012 – Officer Kelly Bowden was killed in a vehicle crash when a car suddenly pulled into his lane, colliding with his patrol car. The impact caused Officer Bowden’s vehicle to swerve and strike a utility pole. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
