Game Warden Pilot Daryl Gordon, 60

Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife – Warden Service

March 25, 2011 – Game Warden Daryl Gordon was flying a department-owned Cessna 185 when it crashed in a remote area. The following morning, a rescue crew located his body at the site of the crash. He is survived by his wife and two adult children.

Trooper Kevin P. Dobson, 43

New York State Police

March 26, 2011 – Trooper Kevin Dobson was struck and killed by a passing vehicle while he was conducting a traffic stop on the side of a highway. Trooper Dobson is survived by his three children and his grilfriend.

Deputy Sheriff Robert Britton, 54

Smith County Texas Sheriff’s Office

March 28, 2011 – Deputy Robert Britton received and responded to a report of a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a cow. While Deputy Britton was directing traffic around the injured cow, the animal charged him. The force of the attack knocked him into the air. He landed on his head causing severe injuries. The animal then repeatedly attacked Britton until other deputies were able to pull him away.

Deputy Britton was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He is survived by his two children.
