Officer Scott Leslie Bashioum, 52
Canonsburg Borough Pennsylvania Police Department
November 10, 2016 – Officer Scott Leslie Bashioum was shot and killed by ambush after responding to a domestic dispute call. His partner was also shot and was flown to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Officer Bashioum is survived by his wife and children.
Officer Darrin Reed, 50
Show Low Arizona Police Department
November 8, 2016 – Officer Darrin Reed was shot and killed after responding to a suspicious person call. The shooter fled the scene and then took a teenager hostage and barricaded himself and the teen inside a cabin,where he engaged in a shootout with police. The suspect was killed during the exchange of gunfire.
Officer Reed is survived by his wife and two children.
Sergeant Patrick Sondron, 41
Peach County Georgia Sheriff’s Office
November 6, 2016 – Sergeant Patrick Sondron was shot and killed while walking up a driveway to answer a call regarding a dispute between neighbors. A second deputy, Daryl Smallwood, was also shot. The suspect engaged in a shootout with other officers and was wounded during the exchange of gunfire. He was taken into custody at that time.
Deputy Daryl Smallwood, 39
Peach County Georgia Sheriff’s Office
November 8, 2016 – On November 6, 2016, Deputy Daryl Smallwood, along with Sergeant Patrick Sondron, was shot while walking up a driveway to answer a call regarding a dispute between neighbors. Deputy Smallwood succumbed to his injuries two days later. Sergeant Sondron died the day of the ambush.
The suspect engaged in a shootout with other officers and was wounded during the exchange of gunfire. He was taken into custody at that time.
Officer Cody Brotherson, 25
West Valley City Utah Police Department
November 6, 2016 – Officer Cody Brotherson was intentionally struck and killed by a stolen vehicle being pursued by police officers. As Officer Brotherson and other officers attempted to deploy stop sticks, the driver of the stolen vehicle veered toward them and struck Officer Brotherson, killing him.
Officer Brotherson is survived by his parents, two brothers, and his fiancee.
Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo, 41
New York City Police Department
November 4, 2016 – Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo was shot and killed after locating a suspect who committed a home invasion robbery. As Sergeant Tuozzolo approached, the suspect opened fire shooting him in the head. A second sergeant at the scene was also shot but survived.
Sergeant Tuozzolo leaves behind his wife and two young sons.
