Definition of sadness: Sitting in a dimly lit hospice room, holding your sick child’s hand while watching the bright red second hand of a wall clock spin round and round and round as it tick-tocks her life away.
And there’s not a d%#* thing you can do to stop it.

If you’d like to contribute to Ellen’s fundraiser, you can do so by clicking the link below. They need all the help they can get to help with staggering medical bills, and for the inevitable expense that will present itself within the very near future.

There is no pain more excruciating than a parent whose child leaves this world first. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you watch Ellen’s life ebb away.

Lee, my heart goes out to you and your family. I sat beside my mother and my husband while the seconds of their lives ticked away, and the Lord knows how hard that was, but to watch your child slip away — I don’t know how your heart still beats. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
